How To Deal With Collection Phone Calls
Just as we’ve discussed, collection agents are not allowed to harass you over the phone.
To deal with a collection call, you should always remain calm and professional throughout the call.
Raising your voice or shouting will not produce results and will often lower your chances of dealing effectively with the collection agency.
Additionally, it is important to practice your message before actually talking to the collection agency. If you know that the collection agency will call, sit down and figure out what you can afford to pay and when you can reasonably pay it. Then write it down along with other information that you don’t want to forget about the call.
That way, when the collection agent does call you, you will be ready and waiting for their call.
