While often your personal information is not the most interesting portion of your credit report (you already know this information – why would you waste your time reading it), it is still very important to check your personal information very carefully to ensure that it is correct.
If your personal information is incorrect, it can lead to confusion about your credit and might cause you to miss an important opportunity for credit in the future. Your personal information includes your current name as well as any former names you may have had (such as a maiden name).
It also includes your date of birth, your social security number, your current and previous addresses, and any employers that you have worked for.
