What’s In A Credit Report?
A credit report contains a lot of different information. While it might seem overwhelming at first, if you look at it section by section, it is not too overwhelming at all. This chapter will let you know what to expect in your credit report and will provide you with a detailed explanation of each section. If you find something in your credit report that is not accurate, you can report the error to the credit bureau and they will investigate it.
The basic sections of a credit report are:
1. Credit Summary
2. Account Information
3. Inquiries
4. Negative Information
5. Personal Information
We will discuss each of these sections in more detail throughout this chapter.
Credit Summary
Depending on which report you are looking at, this section might be very detailed or almost non-existent.
This section will show you the overall summary of your credit history.
While it is an important section, it is just summarizing the other information in the report.
