There are many ways to cut your expenses without cutting the luxuries that you are used to having.

• Use coupons to help you save on items that you already purchase.  You can find great coupons in your Sunday newspaper and can organize them with the virtual coupon organizer at www.couponmom.com
• Don’t use coupons for items that you won’t eat.  It doesn’t actually save you any money.
• Plan your meals ahead of time and then make a grocery shopping list.  Use your list and stick to it when you shop.
• Shop in club stores where you can purchase the items that you use the most often in larger quantities for a lower price.
• Substitute cheaper foods in some of your meals.  For example, if the grocery store is having a sale on chicken this week, plan your menu around chicken instead of the full price beef.

• Plan larger shopping trips so that you can visit the store less frequently.  The grocery stores are set up to encourage impulse buying and the less shopping trips you make, the less money you are likely to spend.
• Shop with cash only.  Plan your shopping list and only bring enough cash for the items on the list.  This will help discourage impulse buys.
• If a store has a loyalty card, sign up for it and use it.  It can often save you significant money on your grocery purchases.
