9. Set up Your Own Website and Sell Advertisements

If you have original content and just a little bit of website knowledge (or the ability to hire someone who does), then you can make money online by selling advertising space on your website. 

You can make money through Google AdSense or through affiliate programs.

 

There are also many other advertisers who are willing to pay you to post their ads on your website.

One of the biggest advantages of this type of income is that once everything is set up, it takes very little maintenance to keep it going and it will earn income for you even if you take the week off.  

The key to making this work is to have a website that people will want to visit – often this means that you will need to provide useful content for those people.

If you not technically savvy, there are still many ways to build your own advertisements.  One site that helps is Site Build It! which provides you with everything you will need to build your own site and make money from it. In fact using their service I started my online business couple of years ago and earning nice income ;)

10. Participate in Medical Studies

Whether or not you are sick, medical studies can be a rewarding method of earning some extra cash. 

There are two types of medical studies that you could participate in.  The first is for people who are not sick – these studies are primarily to test the side effects of medicine within the human population.

These are very carefully controlled studies and often pay a very high amount for your participation.  For example, one study might require that you stay at the facility for one week and then attend two outpatient visits, but would reward you with $5000 at the end of the study.  Not bad for a little over a week’s worth of time.

Another type of medical study is for those people who are already sick and need specific medications.  Often, the doctor can recommend that you participate in a medical study for a specific drug that is relatively new to the market.  In return, you will often receive the medication and doctors visits for free and sometimes will receive cash rewards as well.

Whichever option you choose to increase your income, make sure that it is something that you are able to devote your time to.  Often, people might start a second job or an online venture, but not really have the time that it takes to devote to it.  Start small, with only one day per week, and work your way up to your “acceptable” level.  Even with only one day per week, you can earn extra money that will really help your financial situation.
